Truly Great Leaders Embrace A Challenge

“A man of character finds a special attractiveness in difficulty, since it is only by coming to grips with difficulty that he can realize his potentialities.”

                                                                Charles de Gaulle

Each year I serve on a committee that works to promote a fun event targeted to reducing the suicide rate for adult men.  They are, unfortunately, the largest demographic for suicide – a sad fact that most people are surprised to learn.

(If you’re in Colorado and available the evening of June 12th, please join me in this celebration of men’s health.  You can see all the details at www.GuysNightOutDenver.com.)

I’ve lost two dear friends to suicide.  My guess is that they didn’t realize the wisdom inherent in de Gaulle’s words and see their difficulties then as opportunities to realize their potentialities.

We’ve worked to provide funding for an amazing and even fun web site targeted to men who might be struggling mentally or emotionally.  There are many educational pieces and resources at www.ManTherapy.org and it might be a good site to Favorite should you or someone you love need a quiet, non-judgmental source of information.  There’s also a highly personal testimonial video from yours truly and you can access that by clicking here.

Remember, it’s when you struggle that you discover what’s possible!

With love and respect,
